Thought there were separate accessory belts for each
device, alternator, ps pump, a/c compressor, etc. plus
your timing belt. If that needs replacement, Honda will
usually replace the water pump and the accessory belts
with a package deal. If you feel the car is wort it, it's
money well spent.

Driving and was passing at 65 miles an hour. Honda civic 2001 started to shake and the check engine light came on. Pulled over and stopped the car. Turned it back on and it drove fine except the check...

Timing belt might have slipped a tooth causing the engine to misfire. Check that the crankshaft and camshaft is in the correct position and the tensioner is working properly. Ideally, if the timing belt is replaced, the tensioner and the water pump also has to be replaced. Or you might be able to just replace the spring for the tensioner. A less than $5 part.

These water pumps are integral with the timing belt you must replace the timing belt with the water pump because the leaking water pump and antifreeze on the timing belt causes deterioration of rubber belt thereby causing imminent failure of timing belt destroying valves $$$ google" interference engine" for an explanation of interference engine

Belts are replaced by mileage, why do you need to check it? Her is how you check to make surer belt is installed correctly:
Pull the spark plugs and feel the press in #1 cylinder, when you feel the piston pushing air out stop and hand rotate the engine to TDC timing mark on the crankshaft pulley, then check to make sure the camshaft is timed correctly by seeing if the cam pulley notch or index mark is lined up to the cylinder head index mark, since the location of these marks vary fom year to year, refer to a repair manual, your public library is a good source for a a manual.
