Check the fuse for the ecm before replacing it. If you have a ford eec diagnostic try to get the codes. If you don't have a eec code reader there is a way to get the codes out by counting dashboard blinks. If you can get the ecm to output the codes the ecm is not bad.

2007 Chev Uplander 3.9 Could ECM need replaced? Where is it located?

Without testing we'd only be guessing ! You have no idea of the complexity of the electronics on your vehicle . Replacing the ECM would mean a trip back to the dealer to have it programmed . Without programming your vehicle will never start . You had new battery an alternator installed , did it start an run when you picked it up. The charging system on your vehicle is computer controlled . DTC P0621
DTC P0621 : Generator L-Terminal Circuit
The engine control module (ECM) uses the generator turn ON signal circuit to control the load of the generator on the engine. A high side driver in the ECM applies a voltage to the voltage regulator. This signals the voltage regulator to turn the field circuit ON and OFF. The ECM monitors the state of the generator turn ON signal circuit. The ECM should detect low voltage on generator turn on signal circuit when the ignition is ON and the engine is OFF, or when the charging system malfunctions. With the engine running, the ECM should detect high voltage on the generator turn on signal circuit. The ECM performs key ON and RUN tests to determine the status of the generator turn on signal circuit.

Your best bet take it back to the dealer .

I have replaced two two camshaft sensors on my 2007 Saturn outlook Xr for code 336 and no results please help

Who replaced the sensor ? You or a repair shop ? The DTC P0336 does not say to replace a sensor . You do not have access to the diagnostic trouble code diagnostic's . Your best bet ,take it to a qualified repair shop .
DTC P0336: Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Performance
CKP Sensor Signal Circuit

• The ECM detects that the engine is running, but receives less than 51 or more than 65 CKP sensor pulses each engine revolution for 8 of 10 engine revolutions.
• The ECM detects that the engine is running, but more than 19 resyncs occur within 25 seconds.
• The ECM detects that the engine has been running, but the crankshaft does not sync for 0.4 second.

Can a faulty ECM cause engine and transmission problems?

Yes -- but to find that out you have to run the fault codes
Unless you have had a serious fault (battery connected wrong-power surge ),the ECM is the last item to check
battery was flat or replaced the normally resetting the ECM and CPU programs with a scanner will fix ECM problems.

if you have changed the ECM it is possible that you will have to reset/reprogram the ecm to the sensors of the vehicle. Find a nissan shop that has the ability to reprogram the ecm and reset it.

Need to know if after replacing a faulty ECM unit with a used unit, does the replacement unit need to be professionally reprogrammed or serviced in any way?

You should just have the correct ECM and PROM inside of it.
When battery power is removed from the ECM it will reset to factory defaults. When you install it and start the vehicle it may run rough. Some drive and key cycles will "relearn" the ECM.
I have seen a number of vehicles do this just after replacing the battery.

1998 town and country. Installed a new compter now engine turns over but no start and run.

If it ran before the ecm switch then its the new ecm. If the ecm was replaced because it would not run then were looking at a different problem.
