Water in my engine oil

My car make a very loud noise when I start it and I always have to put water or coolant it does overheat aftr i hour drive if i don't put again water

Car started knocking really bad got a cylinder 2 misfire code after opening coolant bleed valve with enging hot


Okay, it may be due to overheating, that may be the noise you heard, lets hope. first allow engine to cool, open radiator cap or the resivoir cap, which ever is the fill, remove the bleeder at top hose and fill radiator slowly until coolant comes out bleeder.

note if water pump was replaced due to leaking and engine was overheated at that time then it may be a good idea to replace the thermostat .
after filling is done start engine and allow it to run. watch temperature if temp start to climb past half way shut engine down and let sit for 5min. then restart and check level, in res do not open cap . feel air from fan and see if it is getting hot, this may take up to a half hour but do not drive,

A few questions, does this jeep have an electric fan?
when you heard the knocking was engine temp hot?
If you start jeep cold does engine knock?
Did this jeep get a new thermostat with waterpump job?
did it overheat when pump went bad and why did water pump get replaced?

Loud noise coming from the engine check gauges light on ran hot would not start until last night started up but still has a loud noise like something is lose


If the engine ran hot [overheated] long enough then there may be some internal engine damage such as a scored piston or damaged cylinder head. If the engine was hot enough when it was shut off or stalled it may have had to cool down for a while before it would restart. You might get lucky and the noise is being caused by something simpler such as a water pump bearing or drive belt pulley. I'd start by checking both the oil and coolant levels then inspecting the water pump and drive belt for any faults. If the noise is coming from inside the engine then you'll most likely need to have a service facility take a look at it to see where the noise is coming from. Good luck, hope this helps!

Whatever you do, do not drive. I got the same problem about 4 hours ago and tried to get home. Half way, no oil pressure, overheat, silly noise from the engine.
Take your Boxster to a shop with a truck, you'll save money.

I have a 2005 nissan altima 2.5 vtech engine. I have it for 3 years always changed the oil at the 3,000 mile mark but lately it has been making a loud noise when i turn it on but then it goes away..but the...


You may have a head gasket in the throes of failing.
Some of the symptoms are coolant loss, rough running when cold (a small amount of water is sucked into a cylinder when it cools down), above average coolant temperature (causing the fan to run on). When checking your oil, pay close attention to any signs of discoloration and sniff the coolant overflow bottle for traces of exhaust fumes.
The gasket can fail between different points; cylinder to water jacket. This causes higher than normal coolant temps and can cause hard starting and rough idle when cold. If this point fails, the combustion can force hot gases into the water jacket and then sucking in some coolant when the motor cools down. The latter can cause cold-starting problems and stalling until warmed up and free of water in a cylinder.
Oil passages to coolant jacket; oil is under higher pressure than coolant which can force some oil into the water jacket. When severe, it can make Jergen's Lotion out of the oil (that doesn't help lubrication) and discolor and lend odor to the coolant.
If you don't mind dirty hands, I would remove each sparkplug from the cold engine and look for signs of rust or even dewy coolant deposits on the base of the plugs; been there, seen that.
Unfortunately, a failing head gasket won't set any error codes until severe enough to cause other problems to monitored areas.

with the car cold for a few hours, take off the cap on the coolant tank and look at it, it should be clean and red. If it's not, or looks 'oil slicky' you may have a coolant leak into your oil. You can also drain the oil to see this, the oil should look like regular black oil, if it's bubbly, foamy or even light tan/brown you most likely have a blown head gasket or upper intake gasket.

Having trouble with my kia carnival over heating, now my heaters in car are no longer working, what could this mean?


my kia carnival 2002 keeps less heating when the car is in slow speed & when it is fast at 100 KM/H the RPM comes down, there is gear oil at Max & engine oil at max and water is getting low. with this i replaced thermostat, have had radiator pressure tested and was fine, radiator water is full but coolant box is getting empty whilst driving the distance of 100 kms. also when it begins to little overheat or just taking off the speed there is a loud ascending rattling noise which seems to come from the under right side of engine But when it catches the speed everything is smooth. & then you park for an hour the coolant tank is empty.or at low. please tell me what to do.

I want you to take a couple of spark plugs out and examine them. If you find Anti-freeze on them then you may have a blown headgasket. A very common problem of driving a car until it overheats. I really do hope im wrong. Since it is an overhead valve engine with the cam shaft above...its a 1000.00 to 1500.00 dollar job to have it properly repaired. From here out im just going to explain why this happens...
When a car overheats - be it a faulty thermostat...low coolant...or a faulty water pump or improper coolant mixture ratio. The engine gets so hot that it actually makes the top of the engine change shape... it actually changes enough to damage the head gasket. The head gasket keeps the explosion inside the combustion chamber. Keeps the water in its coolant jacket. and keeps the oil inside its ports. When the Headgasket fails. Sometimes coolant gets into the oil (makes a milky residue form on the inside of the oil filler cap...or makes the engine oil look like chocolate milk.) or oil gets into the coolant (makes your coolant have an oil slick on top) It can also cause water to get into the combustion chamber and when the engine is running - blast the combustion back into the coolant (causes the coolant overflow to overflow or spray) or oil gets into the combustion chamber causing the plugs to get fouled (dirty). worse case...all the above happens. I hope this helps in figuring this problem out...i really do hope im wrong about a blown headgasket . As even i tremble in fear of it happening to my car. Good Luck!
