Question about 2011 Chevrolet Colorado
Put the truck in overdrive if shift indicator light is working it shifts fine but if the light indicator goes off you start off in second gear and you lose od.
The light indicates a fault has occurred in the transmission or the electronic control sensors and actuators. You need the dealer to scan the transmission control module (TCM) to see what fault code is stored and then based on that code perform diagnostics and repair the transmission.

Their are a few possible causes of this. One their is not enough tranny fluid in it or the kick down cable is not hooked up properly. the kick down cable also runs the vacume to the transmission.
Check theese and give me feed back to further assist you.

Check both O2 sensor(s) and catalytic coverter.. P0420 means catalyst below threshold. Also check the sensor at the transmission and solenoid.
