I would suspect the ignition starter switch is defective. it under the cover on the steering column and easily replaced.

I have been tempted to pull the starter actuation wire off once started and hold the key on the starter to see if it runs ok. What do you think ?

To reset the system, get in the car and shut the door. Turn the key on to the "Run" position without cranking the engine. Leave the key there for exactly 10 minutes. Turn the key to the off position without removing it and back to "Run" for 10 more minutes.May 1, 2021

Mitsubishi l200 cuts out

It is probably the Suction Control Valve (SCV), it is fitted on the back of the highpressure diesel pump. I just changed one and it works all fine. The Valve should be around 200 euros on ebay, or about 450 euros at your Maindealer. Universal diagnostics will tell you all kinds of things but not this valve. Don`t know what about the proper Mitsubishi Program.
Good luck

You should try re-learning the pass-lock system first. Turn the key to the on position and leave it on for 10 min, or until the security light goes out. Turn the key off for at least 30 sec. Turn the key back on, very important not to turn too far and bump the starter, for another 10 minute cycle. Do this 3 times for a total of 30 min. After the 3rd cycle it should start.
