Question about 2000 GMC Jimmy

1 Answer

2000 GMC Jimmy shimmy's at speeds 60-62 and 70-73.

It doesn't shimmy untill you hit 60 and then it will quit after about 62mph, then it will start to shimmy at 70 and quit about 73. What would cause this?

I have replaced my fuel pump, filter, throttle position sensor, and relay on my 1992 jimmy. it runs but everytime it hits idle speed it cuts off. what could that be

It should have an idle air control valve which lets air into the intake to control the idle speed. The valve could be faulty, or dirty, or the throttle body could be dirty. The computer opens and closes the valve to regulate idle speed.

Have a 2000 GMC Jimmy 134,000 miles unknown upkeep. What would cause this vehicle to shimmy at all speeds? i feel it more at higher speeds.

Idler arm will cause your shimmy also check the pitman arm for any movement up and down. Most of the time the idler arm will wear out first.

Front end shimmy when driving down road

Is there a shimmy at all speeds or just a particular speeds? First thing would check are tires to make sure a tire did not separate on you.Look for large bulges in the tread of the tire as well as any deformation of the tire, steel belts showing on the edges of the tire. Please feel free to respond so we can help resolve your issue.

Check your fuel regulator on also check your injectors - if you have a CSFI injection system you may want to replace it with a MFI upgrade kit. Trust me. - CSFI sucks
