Starter problem or solenoid(which is attached to the starter). I would bet $100 it's the solenoid.

SOURCE: Car won't start. Replaced battery. worked 3 days.

if there is no charging then its back to the alternator or the way its hooked up? did you recharge your flat battery with a mains charger after it went flat the first time? as no alternator will charge a battery from flat to fully charged,,,,even if you drove around the world none stop! the new alternator may have given up working becouse you overloaded the voltage regulator trying to recharge a flat battery witch would mean it was very week to start with?

Replaced head gaskets on 2002 aztek i started it with charger on disconnected charger it died . now wont start got fuel at rail got spark security light never comes on

Sounds like the battery is dead and the alternator is not putting out power. The truck runs off the alternator after it starts. The battery is just there to start the truck. Try to jump start the truck again and once it is running take the positive cable off the battery and if it stops running you have a problem with the alternator.

My 1992 jeep cherokee laredo wont charge

Disconnect (-) ground cable from battery and replace alternator. Reinstall the (-) ground cable after installing the alternator to avoid arcing and possible damage to the new alternator. Always wear safety glasses when working with car batteries. An explosion and acid burn hazard exist.

Wont star put new battery in

If it ISN'T cranking over ok ... and has a discharged battery..
Disconnect the leads from the rear of the alternator. A faulty alternator can discharge a battery within minutes. Charge the battery and leave the alternator disconnected. Try and start the car.

If - with a charged battery and alternator disconnected - the engine seems very slow to crank or makes a 'clicking' noise ... try cleaning the battery terminals - particularly where the black lead connects to the engine block/bodywork.

Check the leads -and terminals - for breakage/corrosion. A 'bad earth' or corroded/loose battery terminal can cause non-starting problems.

If all is ok and the car spins the engine but won't start, suspect a sensor fault.

Don't waste money on replacing part after part in the hope that the care will fire up. The best - and cheapest - option is to have an OBD - a hand held diagnostic check done. This will identify any error codes and tell you the cause .. i.e 'crankshaft sensor fault'.

I have 2005 I changed the starter and battery good but it still won't start

First does it crank, if it does then check to see if the fuel injectors are getting fuel.....could be a fuel pump...

second....if there is nothing when you turn the key and the battery is good and the starter was replaced...it could be a bad ground.....thats the ground coming off your battery and goes to your chassis of the car.........let me know how you make out.

Changed thermastat,,car now wont start,,never unpluged battery,,what do i do..is belt too tight..

If it started before the thermostat was replaced, you may have disconnected a sensor or ground supply and forgot to plug back in. Does it crank over when trying to start?

Replaced alternator and accidently grounded battery cables and know it wont even crank over

you skipped the 1st step
disconnect battery minus lug 1st, , rule 1st off. last on, all cars. USA.
so you blew up the fuse, or fuseable link there next or inside
the main box. PDC the main power box has huge fuses.
this is covered in the FSM. buy one, so you know the steps.
and not get hit with flying acid. (photos not pretty)
or
alldata.com RTM

if you had a voltmeter, all this would be seen now
you see voltage at battery but it dont make it past the PDC
simple cause. fuse blow.
12v xxxxxxxxfusexxxxxxxxxxx-0v
see my schematic. see 0v, bingo, fuse blown.
every time.

Unplugging or disconnecting battery will rest the computer every time. Here's a simple solution that should work for you. If the battery is in good shape and holding charge, then disconnect the ground to the battery. Allow 15 minutes to pass, before reattaching the ground. Reattach ground, and attempt starting the car. If it starts, let it run a few seconds and then turn it off. Let sit for about 20-30 minutes, and it should come up and run efficiently. If the battery light came on, it is most common that the battery is weak and the charging system is failing.

If the light does not go out after getting restarted, then replace the alternator, and the problem should be resolved given a battery that is not more than 4 years old. Otherwise, replace battery first, then the alternator if necessary.

Hope this helps!

  1. Check the wiring of the new radio installed as follows..
  2. Disconnect battery ground
  3. verify radio ground wire is grounded to metal
  4. verify radio hot wire (normally red and thick) is connected to a power source that is off when the ignition key is in the "off" position.
  5. verify that the always hot wire is connect to a constant 12v power supply even with the ignition off.
  6. make sure the pwr antenna wire if not used is taped at the tip and not touching any metal.
  7. verify that all speaker wires are connect correctly and not shorted to ground.
  8. connect battery ground you may get a small spark if your courtesy lites work.
  9. start engine verify your battery is charging by disconnecting the battery ground cable while the engine is running, it should continue running if it don't, alternator maybe bad.
  10. If it continues running problem solved..
