You probably have a control module going bad or just doesn't like cold weather . U - codes have to do with the C.A.N. controller area network ( serial data network ) Do you know anything about These communication networks ? This is how information is shared between control modules - PCM - engine computer , instrument cluster , BCM - body control module , skim module - anti-theft etc...etc.... You have a scan tool ,now get some service information so you can look up the code an follow the diagnostic procedures for the codes . alldata.com , or go to OEM1stop.com an click on Jeep an pay 30 bucks for 72 hours of repair info. Or take it to a qualified repair shop.

Cluster module has failed

This code will turn on the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) Vehicle Application: 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.7L, Vin N, Eng Cfg V8

Customer Concern: Has 11 codes. U0101, U110C, U0121, P0480, U1120, U0103, U1411, U110E, P000B, U0100, U0002. At this time there is a no crank condition.
Tests/Procedures: 1. Clear the codes and see what comes back. These are all communication codes.
2. Disconnect the modules one at a time when it is acting up and see when the communication comes back.
Potential Causes: Controller Area Network (CAN) C Module

Tech Tips: On this vehicle it turned out the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) which is on the Controller Area Network (CAN) B bus was actually causing the problem. It was also taking down the Controller Area Network (CAN) C bus at times. I hope this helps.

bad communications, between the many computers.

the dealer scan tool can find this. most others not.
make sure battery is fully charged, reset the DTC errors with any scan tool and see if it comes back.
if it comes back and battery is still charged, then its real.

use a scanner its under the left side of dash

it's a bus code, all U codes are. it means there's an issue with wiring.just make sure the cluster is on and reset it, it should go away.
