Question about 2004 Toyota Sequoia
Installed aftermarket DVD/flip monitor. Connected constant power, door trigger and ground to the 3 wires in main dome light. something shorted and popped fuse. Before putting another fuse in I tested continuity and shows a short. Truck side of fuse is short to - on battery. When + on battery disconnected short is not present, when battery connected blows fuse. Wiring from fuse to drivers side block is good, block to overhead dome is good. When inserting "black" connector on back of driver side fuse block short returns. Keyless entry stopped working as well. Please help.

SOURCE: no dome light on tacoma
The dome light gets 12 volt battery power at all times. The door switch, when the door is opened, allows the current to flow to ground, and completes the circuit. The door switch allows the ground to be made. Measure for 12 volts at the wiring connector, and measure for direct short at the ground wire, with the door open. The Ground wire is white with a black tracer.

You have a wire off some where look real good, one may have fell down under the battery or somewhere,or there is a fusible link burned.

Locate the switch in the door jam and exercise it to try to make it worl.
Spray some lube in it.
Some models have the option to NOT turn on dome light when doors open..
Does it not work for all doors????
That will be in the owners manual. You can find that online
