Can you tell me are you changing gear at the time or are you driving in the same gear when it occurs?

My 2000 Chevy Malibu won't stop safely on wet roads..

I guess my first question would be how you define loosing control.
The car should have anti-lock brakes and if the system is working it should keep the wheels from locking up and causing the car to skid.
If the car is sliding around on wet roads, you may need new tires even tho your father said they had been replaced.
I would take the car to a couple of different places to have them check the condition of the tires. Tell them you are thinking about buying the car and need their opinion if you like. Or have someone go with you. You may want to have someone you know drive the car and give you their opinion on how it handles in the rain.

1991 sabb 900 turbo 5 speed manual trams ... I was driving down the road shifted In to fourth gear and the transmission locked up or it has something to do with the brakes .. I can put the car in gear and...

tyres thats normal thats how the dif works wheels go opposite ways. im thinking the linkage has snapped inside the gearbox. its a half circle that moves the cogs for the gears. if its locked in place then its slipped. it would need a replacement gearbox. part of it mus be broken off and in the cogs thats why its cutting the engine out it will act like a brake and just burn the clutch out if you keep doing it. replace the gear box, its lasted a long time from 1991 if its original, when fitting new gearbox replace the gearbox fluid. give the gear box a good flush out before fitting.

Truck has clunking sound when driven on rough road or bumps 92 ford 2 wheel drive 302 super cab

Is the clunking form the body reaction to the bumps or is through the transmission. What ever sounds like some rubber is missing. Look at frame to body mounts, spring to frame mounts and anti roll bar mounts, basically anything that isolates something that moves from something that should be solid. On the transmission look at rubber prop couplings and universal spiders along with gearbox and engine mounts. Finally check the shock absorber mounts for wear

hi this very small hole in the bottom of your gearbox will be the demise of your car, it sounds like the gearbox has seized due to the oil leaking out of the hole, you can try putting gear oil in and seeing if it leaks out of this hole, if it does then the case maybe you need another gearbox, or though you might be lucky if you can repair it, you can purchase a metal filler that will do this if the hole is small enough and re filling the gearbox with oil if this does not work you will need to replace the gear box.

2002 Land Rover Discovery rolls when it is in PARK.

It is known as the Parking Pawl assembly, and requires removal of the gearbox from the vehicle along with the transfer box. You then remove the extension housing (requiring new bolts) and then replace the park lock gear and o'ring.

New Gearbox for my 2000 impreza sport

There is a transmission lock feature that requires tools to undo. This is a feature in case of accident or a hard jarring incident. Check the users manual. I am not sure on the procedure to revert to normal operation.
