Question about Suzuki Vitara

Mechanical i have a 2000 model suzuki grand vitara i am having problem with it .it is lost all it power i have change the fuel fitter and plugs but this has not help it in any way the motor is not missing when it is ideling all when you rev it the problem is when you put it in gear it just has no power

No engine option stated, so answers are near impossible but generic.
why not scan it.
if no DTCs
then check the maf sensor, (if it has one)
see the output of the MAF is it good?
if that is good we check fuel pressure. 30psi or more.
if that is good , did engine lose compression? or or more cylinders?

This could the problem with onboard computer failure .......

try that after visual check under hood confirms no obvious failures like missing drive belt or disconnected electric wires...

Please mention make code and year of the peugeot engine in the car.....

If it's hard to get into gear you should check the clutch is disengaging properly.
Before changing the clutch plate, check that the clutch throw-out is adjusted correctly and the actuating hydraulics/levers have the correct amount of travel.

Grand vitara running rich, exhaust black, using heaps of fuel.


You might have a fuel injector stuck open, check and see of one of your spark plugs are blacker or wetter than the others. If so, have that injector bench flowed at a service center that is capable of testing injectors.

have you tried checking compression? fuel and spark are good but if theres no compression you wont have anything

Grand vitara jeep


jeep been in local garage for 6 weeks !! Was driving along motorway and lost power. Mechanic thought it might be gaskets but now saying its not. Prior to breaking down was burning a lot of oil and a lot of gunge evident at top of where you put the oil. Smoke used to come out of exhaust first thing in morning. Any ideas whats wrong ?
