Question about 1996 BMW 740i
Replaced my ignition lock cylinder with parts from the bmw manufactuer at first the key went into the ignition now it wont go in at all
Suggest strip down and rebuild again as it sounds as though a gate has dropped

no you shouldnt need to, as the aerial antenna for the EWS system simply clips off the front of the barrell when replacing.
well in saying that if you have a new key to match the barrell then thats a major, you will need to see a dealer to reprogram the whole computer system if possible & depending on the system your car is running.
