Need more info. There are 8 different engines offered for this truck. What engine, including the 8th digit of your VIN number? I need the VIN code because there are multiple variants of both V8 engines. What transmission does it have, automatic or standard? Is it a California vehicle?

Have OBD codes P2A00, P0441, P0442, P0446 on my 2003 Highlander. Selling the car in a few months. Does this really need to be repaired before trade-in? Can I just erase the codes?

CODE PO441 - EVAPORATIVE EMISSION EVAP SYSTEM INCORRECT FLOW DETECTED.CHECK INTAKE VACUUM HOSE CONNECTIONS AT THE EVAP CANISTER PURGE VALVE.IF ALL IS GOOD.THE EVAP CANISTER PURGE VALVE COULD BE BAD. CODE PO 446 - EVAPORATIVE EMISSION EVAP SYSTEM VENT CONTROL CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION.

The check engine light on my 2004 nissan pathfinder keeps going on. I have had it fixed once for $500. What could be the problem and how can I avoid another costly repair?

Try taking off your gas cap and installing it again. This can do the trick sometimes. If not you will have to go purchase a reader and see what code it comes up with.

Check engine light stays on, service code is p0446

(Restricted/Blocked EVAP Vent Path)
Dirt and dust intrusion into the EVAP canister vent hose assembly, resulting in restricted air flow, may cause this condition.

Replace the existing EVAP canister vent hose assembly with a new assembly

A code P0442 (BBEVAP) most likely means one or more of the following has happened: a loose or improperly affixed gas cap; a non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand); a small leak/hole in a fuel vapor hose/tube; other small leak in EVAP system; faulty vent o-ring seal

The simplest is to start with tightening the gas cap or replacing it. Have Autozone reset the error, than drive it for awhile and see if that solves your problem.

If that doesn't work, I suggest taking it to an auto repair center to find the problem.

The EGR Valve is located on top of the intake manifold. If you are standing in front of the car it would be on your right hand side. It is cylinder in shape and has wire harness that connects to the back of the engine!

Code P0456 on 2003 Town & Country

Below are the possible causes for your engine light and error code:

Possible Causes:
  • EVAP fuel tank or canister vapor hoses leaking or damaged
  • EVAP system component leaking, fuel cap loose or missing
  • Leak detection pump damaged or leaking

The fuel cap is probably the most common cause of this problem. It's considered part of the emission system and if faulty or not place on the filler tube correctly, it will throw an error. Best of luck with your engine light issue. Take care!
