Several things. Ignition switch. Fuses. Wiring. What does it do when you turn the key to run, accessory, and start? What lights come on? Did you try turning the key on and jump starting the starter?

2001 f150 5.4L starting problems

You should see a heavy duty starter relay. Its located on the passenger side inner fender. Check that component for power and operation. After that I would test the starter for power, ground, and proper operation. Also test the starter trigger wire for power (in the start position).

Ford F150 year 1999 difficult to start, first try acts like batteries problem, second time engeen turning for a while finaly will start, when turn off and start again no problem,

Sounds like a week battery. But I would check that All of the connectios between the battery, starter relay, starter and the alternater are clean and tight. Then check the voltage of the battery with engine off should be 12.7. Then check with engine running should be around 13.8.

2001 ford f150 started shaking while excelerating?

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. But if battery checks out ok, then it can be starter issue or faulty alternator or problem with low fuel pressure or no spark at spark plugs due to dirty spark plugs or faulty ignition coil or injectors getting cracked or dirty and needs to be cleaned.

To confirm the problem, the basic troubleshooting is required.

Hello, my son 2001 f150 supercrew 4x4 will not start, I think it is the starter selonoid. Does this make and model have starter seloniod separate from the starter. I remember a ford that had the selonoid...

If it is not the ignition fuse, that is what I would think it was. There might also be a bad connection to the starter as well. Make sure the wires are correct and everything is grounded. If all that checks out, try the starter selonoid. If you have a question, write back. Thanks for using FixYa.

2001 F150 starting problems, with 12.55 volts in the battery, when I turn the key to start the engine all I get is one click then nothing, turning the key all the way to accessory, I get an audible...

Hello graari: My name is Roger and I will help you. You have one of three problems. One could be a bad starter. Two could be a bad cable connection. Three could be a bad battery. I would look at problem two and three.Check all of your cable connections at the block, battery and starter. Make sure they are tight and free of corrosion. If all connections are tight and corrosion free? Check the voltage at the battery when the key is on and turned to the start position. If the battery voltage drops below 11v. then the battery is most likely the problem. Generally if the starter is the problem the starter will just click. Another way one person can look at the starter is to turn the head lights on for 30 seconds. Should the voltage drop below 10.6 volts then either the battery is in a weakened state and needs charged up or the battery is bad. If you charge the battery and you smell what appears to be a rotten egg smell? Replace the battery. Should need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. This way I know it was helpful. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

1996 F150 will not start. Turn key and nothing

if you hear clicking at the starter solenoid, then hit the starter with a hammer a few times,if it turns over a little, then either replace the brushes in the starter which is about $20.00 or buy a new rebuilt starter for about $90.00
