Check your fuel pressure.Sounds like your fuel pump maybe weak and does't have enough pressure.

Drive cycle reset

Drive Cycle resets to reset the OBDII testing phases are very specialized to the year, model and engine of your car. So I can only speak generally. Start the car from fully cold and let it idle for about 15 minutes, then put the car into gear and drive it for about 5 minutes at 35 mph, then get on a highway and drive at about 60 mph for 15 minutes, come off the highway and drive around 40 mph for 3 minutes, come to a complete stop (like a stop sign) wait 30 seconds, drive off again up to 40 mph for 4 minutes - and repeat the last 2 steps (going up to 40 mph) about 3-5 times. Then repeat the last two steps going up to only 25 mph. Then come to a complete stop in your driveway and let the car idle for 10 minutes with the a/c on . After this is done, hook up a code scanner and see if it reset the modes to "ready".

Alfa 147. unresponsive chuggs when accelerating

Hello! I suspect a defective Throttle Positioning Sensor (TPS)...Cost is around $40...See picture below...It is bolted to the throttle body and has a three wire connector...Wire colors are...Gray/White...Brown/White...And Orange...It can be tested if you have a voltmeter and a wee bit of experience using one...Let me know if you do and I'll send the procedure...

Chuggs when starting, sometimes the check enging

Ok, you might want to check your PCV valve, and the tube that runs along with it, because if it has a crack in it, or if the pcv valve is clogged up, alot of times the car will have a chugg when starting....And the Idle will be rough....Um sorry you lost all that money, but sometimes problems are small, but it may seem big..If the scanner is not picking up any codes, its either because your computer is not sending them out,,,( could be a blown ECM fuse) so check them all, Or its a mechanical problem, and not an electrical problem...But double check all your fuses, and that pcv valve, and the tube...Goodluck

Your problem my be with the ignition module,or the fuel pump.
No chugg,,,, probably module

Have it checked by a mechanic to ensure and to save you money.

My car starts to chugg at a stop sign and engine light goes on now.

You can get a free engine diagnostic at Advanced Auto or Autozone and have them give you a printout. It's very possible that the engine light coming on is the result of a sensor or relay being bad and, in turn, could be causing your car to chugg. Hope this helps.
