SOURCE: Ford F100 Fuel System

There are a couple things here. In the first place if you can pump fuel with the pump off the engine and pumped by hand doesn't mean that it will pump on the engine. See the stroke on the engine is very short, it only moves like 1/4 inch. So you could have a bad pump even though you are pumping by hand. The gas cap, will have no effect on this model. Yes the pick-up tube has a filter on the bottom of it, and it could be stopped up. You can remove this unit up through the top of the tank, got to wiggle it and turn it sideways, and if you can find a used one( New ones scarce and expensive) by going to used parts place, and look for 1967 - 1972, they are all alike. Lots a luck in fixing this great ole truck.

SOURCE: Gas overflows when fillingtank.

This sounds like the gas tank vent pipe is obstructed.

SOURCE: Gasoline pump at gas station keeps turning off

There is a vent valve located near the fuel tank. The vent valve is part of the EVAP emission system. If the valve is obstructed or failed, air will not escape while refueling.
Has the service engine light come on at all?

THE PROBLEM IS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE FRONT FUEL PUMP THERE IS A CHECK VALVE ON THE FOOT AND IT IS NOT WORKING.WHILE THE TRUCK IS RUNNING WITH THE REAR FUEL PUMP ON IT IS PUMPING FUEL INTO THE FRONT TANK . IT WILL RUN OUT OF THE NECK WHEN IT IS FULL.THE FIX IS SIMPLE REPLACE THE FRONT FUEL PUMP. THEY DONT MAKE A CHECK VALVE REPLACEMENT I CHECKED I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AS YOU.

2002 Lincoln ls has a gas leak when I go to the gas station and put 15$ or more gas starts rushing out not all of it maybe 5$ worth which is enough and as I drive it today I see a small leak

I can see your picture that you posted. Each tank can usually only leak from a few places. The filler tube, the overfill tube, the fuel line going in, the fuel line going out, or a seam in a metal tank. Also, seeing as how A lot of pumps are made of plastic, it could be leaking from there also. As I stated before there is also a rubber O-ring between the pump and the tank which could also leak. Other than that, that is it, unless there is a hole in the tank. Please be cautious

Gas leaking from bracket holding fuel tank. cant pinpoint leak.is there hoses on the top of the tank hidden from view?

The fuel supply and return lines connect to the fuel pump on the top of the fuel tank. And the fuel tank filler neck connects to the tank with a rubber hose. Thats on the side where you put the gas in.

I was filling up my car (92 camry 2.2) at the gas station. There was about 1 bar of gas left and after almost 10 litres the gas spilled out at the button , a lot came out not like drips, but i managed to...

go back to the garage that did the work- they did not replace the the fuel pump/sending unit properly- the top of your gas tank is open- that is the leak- and since the sending unit is improperly installed- is not allowing tank float to move and show how much gas you have correctly.

Fuel leaks out and tank is not full

Remove the back seat by just pulling up on the bottom cushion hard. then look at the service cover for the fuel tank. remove that and look and see if the seal is leaking for the fuel pump aND THE HOSES ARE RIGH THERE TOO SEE IF YOU SEE GAS LEAKING. IF NOT WITH THAT ALL APART DRIVE TO A GAS STATION AND FILL IT UP AND SEE IF YOU SEE WHERE THE LEAK IS FROM.

I have a gas leak and we think it may be the gasket for the fuel pump...can you help me locate it?

A 99 is most likely fuel injected, so the fuel pump is inside the gas tank. The gasket for this is a large O-ring in the top center of the tank and is unlikely to leak. Thus your leak is most likely in the line, put it up on a lift at a muffler or oil change place and look underneath for the wet spot which stinks of gas, that will lead you to the leaking spot. Gas tanks themselves can leak due to corrosion, this can be where road debris collects on top, and if you have a skid plate under the tank corrosion can build up between the plate and the tank eventually eating a hole in the tank.

Good Luck

How to remove fuel pump on Neon 1998 ? can I reach from inside the vehicle ?

on a dodge neon the fuel pump is in the SIDE of the tank... NOT the top. to remove the pump follow these steps...
******* first unplug battery and remove ********
1. unbolt passenger side tank strap and lower side of tank.
2. a. if tank is plastic, CAREFULLY unscrew plastic retainer ring but do NOT remove.
b. if metal tank, unscrew metal retainer flange but do NOT remove
3. unplug electrical connector and fuel line from pump. move aside.
4. completely remove retainer BE CAREFUL not to disturb pump.
5. have drain pan or wide-shallow bucket available to collect gas. (if tank is full this will need to be able to hold 7-8 gallons)
6. gently twist and pull pump out till gas comes fourth. catch gas in pan/bucket.
7. remove pump when gas stops flowing.
8. install is reverse of removal.
9 BE CAREFUL not to wrinkle gasket or lose gasket into tank when installing or the tank will leak around pump.
10. tighten retainer but DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
11. reconnect plug and fuel lines check for leaks.
12. reattach tank strap and fasten
13. refill tank with clean gas. check for leaks.
14. put battery back in. connect battery, start your neon and check for leaks one last time.
15, have fun. this will take about 4hrs to do by yourself with proper tools.

On the 91 tracker i told you about the head in new the head gasket is new and all new parts

i have seen many different things do this but the most likely culprit is a bad gas station
most stations have water in there fuel but some have more than others

run the fuel tank real low like almost empty then add some gas line antifreze to soak up tthe excess water in tank then fill up at chain gas station like chevron

large gas stations have strict guide lines for how much water to fuel they are allowe to have in there tanks this is why from time to time you will see a gas station closed for renovations but there is little or no work going on inside it is out at the pumps
since they drain the tanks and slean the pumps out then re fill the tanks and need to prime the pumps

little stations are notorious for pumping water since they arent watched so closely like the chain stations

also if you know a bussy station shop there as they are less likely to have water since they have a high turn over of fuel and there tanks are allways geting run down

likely it is water in the fuel

gasline antifreze better knowen as Isopropyl alcohol it will combine with water and draw it out of your tank
