SOURCE: Where is the EGR valve

I saw on another forum...that it is on the rear of the motor on the passenger side. It also stated that it is easy to replace. I haven't looked yet.

SOURCE: how do i turn off my malfunction indicator light?

If it is an error produced by the engine control system, you should be able to clear it using an OBD II reader. OBD=on board diagnostics. You have to find the plug for the unit, but just plug it in and the machine will read it. I usually borrow one from the local car parts store--give an ID and they will let you temporarily borrow it. Make sure you read the error code as well. There may be some interesting info about what produced the error message. Good luck.

SOURCE: I have a 2005 Chrysler 300 Touring my engine light

The Chrslyer engines are prone to carbon build up in the engine when they are not driven hard. When the misfire occurs the engine runs rough, the car shakes a bit, and the check engine light comes on. The good news is that this is a recognized issue at Chrslyer. There is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) out for this. Synchronicity in the Universe being what it is, my car is in the shop at this moment being serviced for this very same thing. It is a 2002 300M Special Edition with 57,000 miles on it. I haven't been driving it as much because I started taking a commuter train to work and when I do run it, I do not let the engine get up to operating temperature nor do I run it at highway speeds - thus the carbon build up. You may simply need to have the carbon blown out of the engine. Talk to a Chrysler Tech about a TSB for carbon build up leading to intermittent engine misfires and see if this might be at the bottom of the problem.

Is it a hard job to replace the egr vavle on a 2005 chrysler 300 3.5 engine

the egr valve can be changed from below but the left bolt must be done blindly by feel, (use a small mirror,) undue the 2 bolts and pull it out from the intake, careful to make sure the gasket on the end of the tube comes with it;
the 2 bolts that hold the egr on also has a metal gasket;
the hardest thing is to disconnect the electrical plug from below that connects the egr valve, - do not do this if you have no mech experience;

I have a 2005 chrysler 300 touring awd. The shifter won't move out of park. we had it towed to the dealership and were told we needed a shift assembly and it is on backorder What would you do in this...

i would rent a car, consider buying another car, or get to a junkyard and try a locate a serviceable used part for the dealer to install. Main problem is that it may well be on "back order" for years, so the third option may make the most sense. junkyards are now called recyclers, most have web pages, many of them have online inventory search and nationwide parts retrieval from other junkyards. the dealer will pitch a ***** about putting in a used part, and will not warranty the work, but it may make the most sense.

Chrysler 300 3.5 touring. EGR Valve needs to be replaced. How much should I pay to have this replaced by a reputable auto repair shop? I had an estimate of $440.00 and was flabergasted! What do you...

if you can turn a wrench egr valves are easy just go to the library and look it up in the manual for your car and see if your skills are up to it.
