Noise at start Nissan Frontier 2001. Sounds like valves.

Chain-like noises at start, especially first start of the day. Then disappear.

Make sure the oil filter is fitted with a return valve, some after market filters don't have this valve, and the oil drains back to the sump when stopped, It takes a second or two after starting to build up pressure with type of filter, so there is a rattle.

I believe that model has a timing chain, instead of a belt. It could be noisy lifters, but I'd check the chain first, and then the lifters. I hope this helps.

SOURCE: 1999 Nissan Altima - Whining Sounds When Accelerating

Well, not sure if the temps have a direct cause for your problem, but you may want to check the CV joints on your axles. If you have ripped a boot, and lost the grease, that could cause a whinning. There are also a few other things it could be as well............any more info?

SOURCE: adjusting 2001 nissan frontier headlights

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

If you have one adjustment screw, it will control your vertical aim. If you have two adjustment screws, one will control your vertical aim and the other will control your horizontal aim

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

SOURCE: where is the fuel filter 2005 nissan frontier?

Built in the gas tank. It is cleanable. Don't have to buy a new one.

It is built into the pump so if it would have to be replaced then you would have to replace the whole pump. To me thats pretty crappy design.

Crawl under the truck, you should have two or three lines coming off the fuel tank, one will have the filter, one is the return, and one is emissions.

It's very possible that a wire connection came loose and makes connection when you jiggle the fuse box. Be careful when working with the box as wires may come disconnected then you'll be in big trouble not knowing what goes where. Hope this helps.

I have a whisling sound coming from my 4 cyl nissan it sound like it's coming from under the exaust manifold or around the egr valve i know it's a vacuum leak but i can't pinpoint where its coming from

Remove the vacuum connection to the EGR valve and plug it with a golf tee or similar. If it stops whistling, remove the EGR valve and inspect for wear or seal damage (replace if bad). If you still have noise, suspect a leaking exhaust manifold gasket. Hope this helps!

No. The valves are hydraulic. Pour about a coke tin amount of diesl in with the engine oil. Run the enginr to normal teperature. Drain the oil and refill with new oil. It sounds like a lazy or blocked follower. Once you do this it should disappear.

1998 Nissan Frontier AC system

Go to the parts store and buy (for about $10) a mechanics stethescope.  It will have a metal piece you can carefully (MAKE SURE YOU DON"T PUT IN THE PATH OF A MOVING BELT OR FAN) put on the top of the A/C compressor, other end in your ears, and with a helper turning the A/C on and OFF,  you should be able to determine if the sound is coming from the A/C compressor clutch.  If so, replace the compress clutch or compressor.  Form the limited info I have, it sounds like the clutch is bad or on the way out.
If the A/C works (blows cooler than the ambient air), it's unlikely there is any problem with valves in high or low pressure side being in wrong position (especially if no one has been monkeying with them ;~) )
