It sounds as though the steering box is worn, or out of adjustment. On most trucks this is quite easy to adjust.

Why would the front end start shaking at speeds above 55mph?

It could be
- out of balance rims and tyres
- bent rim after a pothole
- worn tie rod ends
- loose lug nuts
- worn steering end ball joints (if fitted)
- loose or worn steering box mounts

and so on. Take it to a front suspension or tyre shop in case it is a sign of something serious.

Loose play steering wheel

take it in for a front end alignment, bad news is that most likely your rack and pinion or least $$ is bad tie rod ends. check your front tires to see if the wear is weird

Verry loose steering on a 96crown victoria police interceptor front end parts r ok . what can i do to fix it

Then you either have a defective steering rack or you have a loose steering shaft rag joint, check both.

My 1998 jimmy steering jerks out of my hands whats the matter.

You have some serious and dangerous problems with your front suspension. This is called bump steer, and is usually caused by the front end alignment being out of adjustment, mainly the caster adjustment. But for it to be bad enough to **** the steering wheel out of your hands, there has to be something coming loose, such as a ball joint, or tie rod end, or the idler arm may be loose. I would suggest taking the vehicle to a front end shop immediately, and have it inspected.

1996 camry has loose steering

1 - loose steering box or out of adjustment
2- bad ball joint
3 - bad front end

All of these require a professional and a front end alignment so please take it to a pro as your life could be at stake.

2004 ford f350 4x4 dually is very loose while driving

Well it could be that you need to have the steering box properly adjusted tightened up a bit when you put the new steering box on it has to be adjusted by someone that knows how to adjust it properly or you might need to put a stabilizer shock on the front end or if it has one already replace it.

Steering loose

at the end of the steering wheel there is your steering gear box on the top of the gearbox in the middle you will see a screw and a nut you need a wrench to lossen the nut and a screwdriveer to tighten it up. maybe your front end is loose you should have that checked out

Very bad shaking after hitting a bump

this is known as death wobble because it feels like you are going to die but slowing down will end it.

The cause for death wobble are:
  1. Worn or loose tie rod ends on your steering linkage.
  2. Worn or loose trackbar bushings or tie rod ends on the trackbar itself.
  3. front end needs alignment.
  4. and many others but the common reasons are listed above.
try to realign the front end. If it doesnt help, then you do indeed have worn steering / suspension components.
