SOURCE: 91 gmc shifts in and out of overdive

I had an 89 Suburban that started doing the same thing. Change the fluid/filter and add a quart of Lucas Transmission Fix. See how that does. Ultimately, you are going to have to rebuild or replace the transmission as the problem will only get worse in the end. Mine finally went down completely and cost me about $2700 to rebuild.

SOURCE: The transmission is shifting hard going from 1st

rec check fluid first. If trans fluid hasn't been changed in last 30,000 miles change fluid, filter and pan gasket. At that time inspect for foreign materials in bottom of pan or on magnet if you have one. If truck has over 100K and fluid was never changed you may have more problems if changing the fluid.

SOURCE: I have a 1994 Grand Cherokee , my problem is

The netural saftey switch can collect moisture over time

I had a netural safety switch that was flooded inside the plastic casing an cause an intermitting short while driving.

====
OPEN this link HERE for the picture of the netural safey switch.
====

Inspect the shifter linkage,r and cable to the switch.

If the netural safety is loose then it will also give false information to the trans computer.

Make use the switch is mounted perfectly.

====
If you see water inside the netural safety switch then drill a small ~1/16" hole on the lowest part of the switch to drain the water out.

BE CAREFUL. The platic is only 1/8" thick!
====

Please keep me up to date on the repair.

If you has more question then pleasde email me.

Not shifting into passing gear

hi passing gear is actually your transmision drpping down to second gear.if you hit the gas hard.if you hit the gas lightly it will only drop out of overdrive and go into third and not go into passing gear.
