SOURCE: The horn does not honk anymore?

hi from the uk first thing to check is fuse? in fuse/relays box if you check handbook it will identify location and amp of fuse? if fuse ok? then find horn and check wire connection is clean/secure then have someone hold horn button on whilst you tap the actual horn body? if horn works momentarily then ? the horn is faulty you can obtain horn from motor stores not dealers if you want to ? and diy the job no problem if horn is not readily visible ? check under front wheel arches? and in font of radiator below front cross member brace above rad n/s or o/s? hope one of these suggestions help you and inspires to diy best wishes from uk

SOURCE: 2004 yukon horn problem

obviously there is a short in the system probably in the wiring and likely it is exposed wiring. Motion, moisture, and heat would then effect the wiring and cause it too short out at different times and for varied lengths of times. driving your car would cause it to get hot under the hood, so after awhile the wiring shorts and your horn honks. Turning on and off the system causes motion and if it is stuck in a particular position when it shorts than the horn continues to honk

SOURCE: 2004 yukon horn problem

not sure you still need any answers but maybe someone else does. my 2003 yukon wwas randomly honking when i turned right or left and it only did it sometimes. turns out it was because there was a little issue in the steering wheel where the airbag is. i brought it to an auto electric guy and he fixed it for $80. he removed the horn/air bag and just bent the contacts slightly so they no longer came in contact with the horn when turning. it has worked great since that time.

2009 GMC Acadia; why does honking my horn make the headlight come back on?

I am assuming the light is in close proximity to the horn and the light has a poor wiring connection either feed or ground. check for loose or corroded connection. The vibration from the horn has "jiggled" the connection.

Chevy malibu horn won't stop honking

Why not just unplug the horn rather than the battery? One wire plugs into it. The cause could be a number of things. (i.e. Horn button stuck in steering wheel, defective anti-theft system, etc....) This is a tough one to diagnosis.

1992 Dodge Ram 50: Horn honks all by itself.

Check the horn actuating contact at the centre of the steering wheel. It may be damaged or mis-aligned.
Also check the carbon contact that runs on the slip ring under the steering wheel (associated with steering wheel horn actuate switch) It may be damaged or mis-aligned.

If none of the above are faulty, you should look for a possible intermittent short to ground on the horn actuation control wiring.
