Question about 2006 Hyundai Coupe 2.0
My Hyundai Coupe won't change down from 4th Gear into 3rd Gear but changes up from 2nd into 3rd Gear as smooth as anything. What is the cause and solution?
Have you checked the transmission fluid...does it smell ``heated``,
is the fluid red or dirty?

CHECK ENGINE light??? Whenever the 'CHECK ENGINE' (Service Engine Soon) light comes on, the ECU (Engine Control Unit) sets a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). These codes identify the particular engine management system which caused the light to come on.
You'll need to use/find an OBDII (On-Board Diagnostic) Scanner to retrieve any code which have been stored in the ECU computer. Afterward, we might be able to help you DIAGNOSE the problem and perhaps eventually fix the problem.

you may have lost 4th gear and need a major repair or new trans. but it could be just a faulty sensor (hopefully because it would be much cheaper)....... a mechanic should be able to tell you with a quick inspection......good luck
