What is afm? 20 pounds for a rebuild is way to low. Even for Chrysler. Year make and model helps.

No. If AFM is bad it would not start.

seized on main shaft spines.If you can spray DW40 on the splines and leave for a while should.come out shacking and pulling.

Galant VR4 or Evo. which car is it?

have you reset the ecu? disconnect the battery for 5 minutes. make sure you have any radio codes if your radio has a security code lock.

Also could be the idle control stepper. Mitsu gives it some name like ICU but it's a small mottor attached to the throttle that opens and closes valves to let a little more air in and up the rpm.if it's sticky try cleaning the throttle and the valves.

its either pin 109 or pin 54. 109 Ignition pulse detect (tach) 54 Power transistor for #1 and #4 coils

the diagrams from the S-AFC has this diagram. which uses pin 54.

i would try pin 109 first, if that doesn't work, try pin 54. its possible that they will both work.

can you tell me what this is in regards to what on the vehicle?

check oil filler cap and its retainer are properly fitted-this might well be the cause
