Question about 1998 Chevrolet Blazer
After Battery was replaced in 1998 4.3 Blazer air conditioner quit working. Freon is ok. Blows hot air and sometimes a cool burst comes in briefly!
I had the same problem,to me it was the ac/heat door actuator, this turns a motor for the temperature contol, when its broken it ither stays at just one temperature or flips from hot to cold constantly , if it is this is its not a cheap fix. if you go to the dealer just the actuator costs you about $200 and labor is $800 they will tell you that they need to take the whole dashboard out and thats why it will take 8 hours. what i did was get one from the junkyard for $50 and install it myself, all you have to do is open the glove box and take out a 3-4 screwd weird shaped box (actuator) its a tight space but it posible to take out with out pulling the dash,it saves you $800. it took me about half an hour to change it.
