Your must replace the entire control assembly
you start buy removing all the trim pieces near the stereo starting from one on the outside and then the one surrounding the steer and control unit. You can go to any auto parts store and by the tools to help pry the pieces of so that way you don't break them. When you pry on the make sure you pry straight towards you gently with pressure so they don't break. Once all off there should be 2 to 4 screws holding it in. Remove those and out it will come easily. Once out just disconnect it and install the new one and reverse the steps and your all set.

Removing the cover from the radio and heater console

The bezel surrounding the radio and heater/AC controls is held on with 6 tension clips. It also has tabs at the top that are held under the adjacent horizontal trim pieces.

Remove the horizontal trim pieces on each side of the radio bezel using a small plastic pry tool. They will pop off fairly easily. Then simply use the pry tool to work your way around the radio bezel and pop it off as well. This will expose the heater control that you need to replace.

2006 chevy cobalt the engine cooling fan is not coming on

Check with warm engine and off by touching on your radiator vents whether is in all places same temperature. If not check whether you have air in the coolant which needs bleeding,or not good coolant circulation, caused either by clogged radiator, not good water pump,or faulty thermostat.By having these things it is the possibility the fan switch not getting the correct temperature to allow the fans to start. the last thing if everything is working, the possible is the fan switch itself.

My 05 cobalts driver door is stuck shut how do i get it open to fix it?

If you can't open it from inside or out the actuator rod is either broken or out of place, Sometimes the lock sticks. try locking/unlocking to see if it frees up. If not it's going to require removing door panel and reattaching rod.
