Question about Hyundai Sonata
I had a bad harmonic balancer which ruined the timing belt cover. so while i had it off i decided to change timing belt. i put every thing back together correctly but when i go to start it it will barely run. so i took it back apart and the belt had jumped teeth. i put everything back in to time and tried again with the same result. it is running terrible. and did anything else get ruined inside the motor as a result of this?
Sometimes when engine jumps time it can cause the valves to get bent because engine is does not fire in order like it should.

Is the car flashing any codes. I would look for fuel issues possibly fuel filter, injectors etc. Because these items are easier to check. Otherwise it sounds as if the timing is off on the car. If the Hydraulic tensioner is not replaced this could cause the belt to jump teeth as well. PRETTY SURE YOUR TIMING IS STILL OFF

CCW , and your going to at least put the new timing belt on and balance to check for compression. you can run an engine without the covers installed or accessories hooked up

Hi my name is juan and lets try to solve this it is possible that when you rotated the camshaft the distributor last his position and this is why it won't start it may not be the problem but this happens a lot so open your distributor and aline up your marks on camshaft and the crankshaft then make sure the distributor is pointing near the #1 spark plug if is opposite give it a 1 more turn to the crankshaft line up your marks again and se what happens #1 spark plug is the closets to the front part of the engine on 4cil
