Shouldn't be to hard. Find where the sleeve is connected to the side of the engine. Usually one bolt. Remove the bolt. Remove dipstick sleeve from your engine. Then you can use a wire hanger from the other end to push it up. Or down which ever is easiest..

SOURCE: where is the dipstick located for transmission fluid?

If you are facing your engine, look on the right hand side of the engine, down towards the front by the radiator, you should see the dipstick for the automatic transaxle (if this an automatic transmission of course)

SOURCE: oil dipstick tube is broken/cracked

Take the car to another mechanic, one that does it on the side, it's not a hard job, just a pain to get to.

Where is the oil dipstick on a 2000 ford sv

The most likely location will be half way across the drivers side of the engine. A yellow plastic ring pull tucked down the side of the engine block. Not knowing the model and engine that's the best I can do.

My oil dipstick broke off. Can you tell me the easiest way to retrieve the stick to replace with new

Many dipstick holders are bolted to the engine...removing this bolt and the dipstick tube should also retrieve the dipstick...you may need a new tube, as well as dipstick...Hope this helps.

I have a Ford F350 Lariat Super Duty Diesel with the 6.0 engine. wha would cause the oil pressure to drop complete when I come to a stop but run normal when going down the road?

Your oil is under pressure as it is circulated through the engine, and at low RPM there is less pressure pumping the oil around. With the broken dipstick, I presume there is an oil-pressure leak and at normal operating speed there is enough capacity to maintain proper pressure, but the leak is more than the engine can overcome at low speed. I would suggest replacing the broken dipstick.

Toyota yaris problem

Do Not do that!! Anything foreign in the sump is a really bad idea.It way make its way to the oil pickup screen and partially block the flow of oil. This has the potential to damage your engine. At the bottom of the dipstick tube is usually a small bolt that attaches the tube to the side of the engine.I would remove this and see if I can fish it out then.Failing this you will have to drop the oil pan and get it that way.I know this may seem like a trivial thing but the potential is there to do a lot of damage.
If bits of plastic get past the screen and get into your engine any cost to get the stick out will seem very minor. good luck

2006 Cobalt - Brown thick sludge on dipstick

If the oil level (checked with the dipstick) is VERY high, and the oi on the dipstick looks like chocolate milk (or just after running, foamy chocolate milk), this usually means either the head gasket is blown, or the cylinder head or the engine block is cracked, allowing the engine coolant to mix with the engine oil.

The plastic ball and about 3/16 inch on the end of the dipstick when I checked the oil. Can this broken end cause any engine problems? Does the oil pump have a screen on the intake to prevent the end from...

Yes it does have a screen. If the actual dipstick is metal you could install a magnetic drain plug in the oil pan & you would likely find that piece attached to it next oil change. 95% chance it won't cause you any grief. if it is a plastic dipstick you won't have to worry about it at all.

When the dipstick was removed, the top of the tube to the engine broke off. How to repair please? Thank you

Plastic dip stick funnels are always snapping off.

Remove what you can see down to metal tube. With small hook on end of stiff wire, pull out inner plastic sleeve from tube.

If it won't come out...push it down so new funnel can be installed.

It can't hurt as the tube ends one eighth of an inch from the oil pan floor.

FYI. You need to cover top of new dip stick funnel with cloth and push home until you hear it click onto tube.

Oil dip stick broke off about 1 inch in shaft

You have to remove the oil dipstick tube.  Most are just pushed into the engine block with a o ring seal.  With some effort you should be able to pull it directly out.  Have you tried a bent coat hanger with a barbed end?
The procedure is easy the acessability may be the hard part.
