SOURCE: 2008 Chevy Cobalt: cd player

Hi.

The problems you are experiencing are caused by the wiring inside the steering wheel. The radio input changing at random is the effect of a contact in the steering wheel control interface. If you have no steering wheel control interface check at the back of the radio for a short in steering wheel control connector's contacts.

The clicking noise when you turn is not coming from the flasher relay, but it is simulated and played by the same system that plays the seat belt chime. If both noises are gone it is probably because of a problem the wiring that goes to the internal car audio system or because a short circuit has impaired both functions.

Problems with steering column wiring are quite common in new Chevy Cobalt. GM has not issued yet any recall for such problems. Here a forum.

There is instead a recall to prevent sudden loss of power steering assist. The recall has been issued to face a critical problem, as loss of power steering while driving may represent an hazard. The recall will entitle you to a free power steering pump and control replacement. I suggest going to the nearest dealer place and asking about the recall. While the steering column is being disassembled to carry the repair you can also ask to have a look at the wiring in there.

Below recall number and details. Mention the recall number when you ask the dealer about repair conditions. The repair under recall is supposed to be free of charge.

10023D SEP 10 Recall - Loss Of Power Steering Assist- Here GM official bulletin: Recall Bulletin.

Regards.

2009 Chevy malibu radio is not working doesn't power on. The blinkers does not sound when in either . Could it be a fuse? Where is the fuse for this ?

Probably. Check the owners manual. On some models there are TWO fuses connected with the radio. One powers up the radio when you turn the key on, the other is on all the time to keep the clock, preset stations, etc. stored. Owners manual should tell you where they are located...
Good Luck

Where is the fuse for the radio? My radio isn't working nor powering on. The blinkers don't sound when on. Is it a fuse? 2009 Chevy malibu

You have to fuses to check. I believe the radio fuse is under the hood in the fuse panel. Then you have an amp fuse. On the passenger side of the dash. open the door to access it.

My 2005 chevy malibu classic keeps stalling/shutting down

you might have a short circuit in your car, or a loose cable somewhere, I don't think the car is overheating, I think that the temperature sensor (commonly screwed to the engine by a water return hose) is not working well, probably the bimetalic material is all wear out, you might consider change it.

When I turn the car on. I can hear a beep, but no light comes on.

How many beeps do you hear? If it's 4 in a row, and sounds like the same beep you get when you program your radio, you could have an electrical problem. My '03 just started doing that too.
