Question about 1995 BMW 525i Sport
Car has 160,000 miles. The transmission shifts through all gears smoothly. When I accelerate the car seems to vibrate. Possible problem and how to fix.
The vibration is caused by worn driveshaft parts. The BMW driveshaft is flexible and has a rubber universal joint called a Guibo and a center support bearing that must be replaced when worn or old. The parts are about $100 (60 for the universal joint and about 35 for the support if you buy them from autopartswarehouse.com )and the labor is about $250 at a good independent repair shop.

If the car is grinding when going into reverse, you need to have the clutch bled or repaired.
If it goes into reverse with out grinding, I am sorry to tell you your problem is internal to the gearbox. Bad or damaged Syncro

SOURCE: 1999 BMW 323 transmission
poping out of gear is caused by transmission internal wear, it can be the shift rails or other trans parts like bearings and engagement dogs on drums.

it is a sealed trans. you will have to bring it to BMW to have them take a look.... they dont put a dip stick on that car and many other's so you can't do anything except bring it to them to have it worked on... sorry for the bad news.... hope this helps you

The first thing to do is to check the transmission fluid level as some of your symptoms are classic for low fluid levels.
