SOURCE: 1999 chevy silverado service 4 wheel drive light

I had a similar problem with the Service 4 Wheel Drive light which came on intermittently then became more consistent in the message center display. It would go into 4 wheel drive if the message center did not display the Service 4 Wheel Drive message in the message center, but not when the message was displayed. I found the transfer case switch module in the dash was defective, and it has been working with no other problems for three years.

I believe you are on the right track.. Since you do not have a meter.. take a trip to your local auto parts store such as Autozone, Oreilly etc.. They will test you battery free of charge!!.. Best of Luck.

5.3. Where is the 3-2 shift sensor located?

There isn't one. It is a piston in the valve body. It is spring loaded. PCM monitors it threw the Pressure control sensor on the bottom of the valve body. Pull the pan and drain the fluid in a clean container. Check the magnet and fluid for metal flakes. Metal flakes in the fluid, you have other problems. If there isn't metal, check wires first then replace the sensor. The sensor is about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide. 5 bolts hold it on. 2 short ones, 3 long ones. one electrical plug.

Where is the throttle pedal sensor located on a 2002 cheverolet silverado

There is a throttle valve positioner sensor located at the end of the throttle valve shaft on the right hand end of the shaft, the sensor then bolts to the throttle body as you face the engine from the front. A defective sensor will set the check engine light and give hesitation during acceleration.

My 1999 silverado will not drive or go in reverse

If you truck will not go forward or backwards you might want to check the transmission fluid. If there is none in there add some and if there already is enough fluid on the dip stick then you more then likely have a bad transmission.

check fluid levels first..look for any gunk in the fluid like black or metal shavings..if found replace filter and fluid..then retry.. if still no gear, time for a rebuild.....

Car wont move when in gear

Check the transmission fluid first to make sure there is enough in the transmission and it is not leaking out. Look at the fluid on the dipstick and smell it. If the fluid is not red in color or smells burned the low/reverse clutch pack in the transmission could be worn out. Wipe the fluid off of the dipstick onto a clean white rag, if you see a grey looking stain on the rag there may be metal particles in the fluid possibly indicating a failed planetary/sun gear set in the transmission. . .good luck.

O/D light started blinking?

you need to change your tranny fluid and check for debrise' in the pan.. metal shavings and disk particles sounds like your reverse high clutch pack and maybe your toruque convertor clutch solenoid or screen has trash or the tranny is just wearing out

Ford Taurus won't go into gear but will go in reverse

I would check the fluid level because low fluid can cause this problem. If the fluid is full, when was the last time the ATF was changed? If the fluid has not been changed regularly then you may have some sludge or particles fouling a valve in your valve body.

just have someone look at it. like aamco or someone that does a free diagnostic. the tranny will probably have to be rebuilt.
