1994 plymoth voyager making clicking noise

I bought a new battery for my plymoth voyager because i was having to get it jumped off. it was a year old.I started having the same problem with my new one I took it to a stater place.they tested all the fuses and said i had a drain coming from somewhere. my neighbor put his tester on and pulled the hood light out that worked for a couple of weeksnow we are back to square one. we do'nt know what to do. it just makes a clicking noise. when wal-mrt checked the first battery out it started sparking so they gave us a new one. can anyone help?

Walmart shop people are not the sharpest knives in the drawer...Company "rules" prevent even the better ones from doing any real proper testing of any problems even inches from the battery.
Your friend was actually doing the right thing but stopped short of finding the "somewhere". You can go over it again or bring it to a competent shop that can do it for you.

If you didn't replace the belt at the same time, it is likely the belt that is causing the noise even if it "looks" ok, I'd suggest you replace it.

Clicking noise when car starts

The clicking noise is from the solenoid. If the battery is weak, then there is not enough current to make the starter turn. Therefore it is not necessary the starter is a problem. One of my experience is that the contact inside the solenoid can be rusty, corroded so there is not enough current flowing to the starter to make it work. The easy way to find out is to charge up the battery, or to have a jump start to see if the starter turns. If it turns then the problem with the battery. If with a new battery and still needing a jump start then the problem is the solenoid contacts, hence the solenoid needs to be replaced.

Starter

you will have to replace the starter. I recommend a rebuilt starter from most any auto parts store.

Car wiil not start while turning key but makes a ticking noise

Obvious choise is a dead battery.

Check your lights, horn (horn often sounds weak or sickly with a dead battery.)

If a dead battery, check the battery terminals for corrosion.

Try charging or jumping the car off. If it starts, take to an auto parts place, most will do a battery/alternator check for free. (Be prepared, they will make you kill the engine, which means you either buy a battery there & replace, or better have cables to jump off and drive somewhere else. on other hand, most will lend you some wore out tools to install the new battery, but their insurance does not allow them to do it for you. )
