HI, if you put the engine marks on the front pulley to TDC, when you put the distributor back in make sure that the rotor arm is facing toward the number one plug lead- good luck.

Fails to turnover because. My neighbor. Took it apart. And forgot how. To put it back. Together he really. Needs a step by step. Guide on how to if anyone could. Point me in the right direction

First off, check your spark plug order. The distributor rotation is clockwise or counter clockwise depending on your engine size. 4cyl 2.3L, 6cyl In-line 3.3L, and V6 3.3L engines have distributors which rotate clockwise. 3.8L V6 and 8 cylinder engines have distributors which rotate counter clockwise. A 5.0 will start with the wires backwards but you will have no power if you try to drive it.

Cant get the timing marks to line up on a ford 2.5 diesel wl motor.how do u set pump and cam timing?txs.

THE TIMING CHAIN HAS TO HAVE SKIPPED A TOOTH UNLESS THE DISTRIBUTOR HAS BEEN DISTURBED. IF THE DISTRIBUTOR WAS REMOVED THEN IT NEEDS TO BE REMOVED AND PUT BACK IN PLACE CORRECTLY BY FINDING TOP DEAD CENTER ON THE COMPRESSION STROKE ON CYLINDER NUMBER ONE AND HAVE THE ROTOR CONTACT POINT AT THAT PLUG WIRE WHEN YOU DROP THE DISTRIBUTOR BACK IN PLACE.
