Question about GMC Jimmy
Once key is turned nothing comes on. shifter was stuck and would not move..got that released but still no power..as if the battery is not connected..
Hi, remove the plastic surround off the steering column, at the bottom of the switch there will be a large connector, when you turn the switch this should turn with it, this can be renewed if faulty, good luck.

SOURCE: Key Stuck in ythe ingnition
There is a hole under the steering column right near the ignition switch, if the key gets stuck, stick a pen or something in the hole, you will feel the little lever move and you can remove the key.

sounds like you have a bad neutral safety switch. it's usually attached to your brake pedal. i'm not sure on a newer maxima but check underneath. here's what it looks like http://www.autozone.com/autozone/catalog/parts/partsProduct.jsp?itemIdentifier=124168_0_0_&skuDescription=Duralast+/+Neutral+Safety+Switch&brandName=Duralast&displayName=Neutral+Safety+Switch&categoryNValue=15799999&sortType=&store=966&isSearchByPartNumber=false&fromWhere=&fromString=search&counter=0&itemId=218-0&navValue=15700218&filterByKeyWord=neutral+safety+switch&productId=124168&searchText=neutral+safety+switch&categoryDisplayName=Electrical+%26+Lighting&parentId=57-0
