Question about 2000 Ford Escort
Was running fine now wont start engine but lights work
Make sure u have enough petrol in your car, there is fuel supply to the engine, immobilizer is disarmed. if all this does not help then you need an expert to check if u have power to the coilpack, module, HT leads, plugs and to the injectors.

check the accelarator cable isnt stretched (rev the car from the peddle, then from under the hood and listen for any rev differences) although its just been serviced also check that its had a replacement air filter. this could be restricting air.

the dearly beloved ford van ,love them or hate them ,i love a ford ,right now will not start off the battery ?? Now a few causes here come to mind ,have you hit it with a hammer yet and swore at it ,because if not then thats the problem.Next step is put a test light on the glow plugs feed to make sure the relay is working, this is what i suspect Check this out and if it doesnt work get back with another posting as er indoors that has to be obeyed wants to go out

Try running a wire from positive direct to the starter solinoid, i wouldnt think it would be the imob unless the computer has been reset, if it has youll need the red master key to reset the system,

SOURCE: 2000 FORD ESCORT WONT IDLE
on the sohc engine there is a rubber elbow on back of the valve cover going over to a line at the fuel injection that cracks at about 100K miles and lets the engine **** air and it will idle horrible til you fix it. Check this and see if it's not your problem...I've had it happen to 3 sohc engines and the dealer wanted $400 to fix the first one for my friend...Took about 30 seconds to pop the hood and pull it off, 3 minutes to glue it back together, an hour to dry, and 30 seconds to reinstall it...

fuel level to low,air in fuel system, idle adjustment incorrect, fuel feed or return blocked, air intake/system blockage, blockage in exhaust system or faulty injectors. Hope this helps
