Code 140 is for a problem with the O2 sensor bank one sensor two. This sensor is behind the catalytic converter and tells the computer if the cat is working or not. The code means the sensor voltage has not changed as often as it should. Could be a faulty sensor, wiring harness problem, or other issue. The sensor would need to be tested using a scanner.
The code is indicating that the reading the computer is picking from the rear O2 sensor is off. This can be caused by many things in the engine, rich fuel mixture, lean fuel mixture. A high-end scan tool needs to be hooked up and a diagnosis done.
I had this problem with my 05 Trailblazer and it happened around 50k miles. The oxygen sensor needs to be replaced and the part costs about 90 bucks but atleast you will have you're check engine light off.
sounds like seprate issues check for fuel pressure, and spark. the code refers to a poss bad o2 sensor wich would be a seprate issue since o2sensors typically wont keep it from starting, just use alot of gas. good luck
