Question about 2001 Mitsubishi Galant
As leaving petrol station, jumped out of gear couldn't get back in, pulled over put in park and now won't unlock from park
There is connector from the brake to the locking mechanism of the park position.you'll need to adjust it so when you press the break it will release the park

sounds like the syncros in your tranny are toast. they are what let your car go into gear and have little teeth on them. You know they are going bad when they start grinding. Id look in a salvage yard for a new tranny or have yours rebuild. Which can be pricey. Rate my answer man!

Here is what you need to do 1st, go to your local auto parts store or hardware store and buy a tube of powdered Graphite lock cylinder lubricant, u then spray the dry lube into the ignition lock cylinder and insert key and turn the lock cylinder to run and off again and do this at least 3 or 4 times, then repeat, clean up the excess powder and u should be good to go, if the problem continues you will need the ignition lock cylinder replaced and the security system programmed for the new key and cylinder, so that will be a dealer job.
