Question about 2012 Chevrolet Chevrolet Cruze LT

1 Answer

2012 Chevrolet Cruze does not stay heated up

In the morning during my 12 mile drive to work, the car will only heat up to 175 degrees. When I get to work and park, the car slowly drops down to about 153 degrees in 10 minutes. Took it to the dealer because the coolant tank was empty and they said it was the water pump, so they changed it. Took it back a second time then they claimed it was the thermostat. So they changed that. Still doing the same thing. UGH!!! Any suggestions?

Check your coolant fans and see if they turn on the only you can find out is by letting the car warm up and opening the hood to see if it's working and if so then it leaves one other problem wrong coolant type or the radiator is plugged up and maybe even one of the hoses are bad or plugged

Turns out that there was nothing wrong but an update to the computer software. Had the software updated at my local dealer and the problem went away.

Where is the blend door actuator located on a 2012 cruze

There are two of them, both should be replaced, one should be behind the glove box on the HVAC box and the other to the right of the steering column on the HVAC box.

2012 chevy cruze 27000 miles on it check engine light came on had it checked at o'rileys auto store an code po597 came up.

Sounds like your car will need a new thermostat heater unit. Its all one piece and will need to be replaced as an assembly. It should be under warranty seeing as the car will not pass state inspection with this failure. It is computer controlled.

I have a 3 month old corolla 2012 le automatic. The engine temperature stays below C when I start the car in the morning and heating doesn't work. Even letting the engine run on idle for a few min

You need to have the dealer look at this, if you fool around with it you can void your warranty. Toyota looks for any legal excuse to void the warranty.

Thermostat is probably bad. If when it is cold out your heat doesn't get very warm then it is the thermostat for sure.

My car every morning starts to overheat, while

Wrong thermostat. There are varying degrees of operating temperatures for thermostats. Example: 180 Degrees, 190 Degrees. The one you have isn't opening soon enough. If you replace it with a cooler grade thermostat, your problem should go away.

Hope that helps you understand what's going on. Thanks for using FixYa.
