SOURCE: car ajar light and alarm goes off on 2005 tribute

Pits one of the five door ajar switches. They are located in the door latch mechanism that holds the door closed. The best way to figure out which one it is is to scan the body control module. With all the doors closed. It will tell you which door is giving the open signal. This will need to be done with a high end scan tool that any good shop or the dealer will have. The most common one to fail is the driver front door.

Door ajar alarm going off and on

There is no fuse it is a ground circuit that sends a ground signal to the body control module, the BCM then turns on the light and the buzzer warning. The sensor is on the latch inside the door. The vehicle has 6 of them. You can have the system scanned/read to see which door or rear hatch switch(s) is causing the problem

Keeps saying a door is ajar when it is not. It acts as if it has a loose wire but it does everything whether its moving or not. Inside light blinks, the chime goes off and it flickers between door ajar and...

I would bet you have a bad door switch. The switch is attached to the door latch (the part that holds the door closed. The hard way to figure out what is gong on is to, one at a time, remove the door panels, unplug the switch, and see if the problem goes away. The easy way is to scan the GEM/body module and watch door data. The door that says open when it is closed is the door to concentrate on.

You can also try spraying penetratinglube into the door latch area. Sometimes this will loosen up a stuck switch. Open and close the door several times after spraying.

Door ajar button stays on and makes a beeping noise

You will need to spray each door latch including the rear hatch liberally with WD 40 or spray lubricant on the latch and open and close each door several times after spraying. This will usually be sufficient to get the door sensors to detect when you have closed the doors. If this doesn't do it, it will hep to figure out which door is intermittently causing the door ajar light to stay on.

Door ajar sensor

each door in the truck and the rear hatch has tiny switches attached to the door latch inside the doors, the rear hatch has 2 such switches, anyone of these can stick, and they do on a regular basis, this gives the false light, Any Ford dealer can hook up a scanner to the body control module and ID which paticuliar switch is causing the problem, since pulling all the doors apart is an al day job that is the most cost effective way to go, have the scanner hooked.

My door ajar sign is on and the doors are closed

did you try spraying the door latch and locks with WD 40? I did on my ford expo. I sprayed each and every door, including the hatchback. Then, I opened and closed them several times. Found out the driver rear door was sticking due to dirt.
