NO START. (8v or 16v engine?) black top or silver top?

your nailed it.. sure is.

my guess, is you skipped. 60,000 mile service points. (tuneups,) am i right?

that includes (among others) a new cam belt.

(evertime... and ever tune up i )

i point my timing light $20 tool at the crank pulley, and behold

the under hood sec, 5 degrees advance is long gone, its way retarded

that means the belt slipped, as the all do , ignored

so common it LINK3 here. "the cam slipped"

my post assumes , nothing fiddled yet, and dizzy is not loose

at the base, flopping around like near dead fish.

see #2 on factory list, pretty high.

2005 wrx 2.0 getting fuel to the rail but not to injectors or engine. cranking for about 30 secouns causes backfire in the intake but engine wont start. what could be the problem?

Well technically you have fuel in the engine if you are getting a backfire in the intake. I would say the fuel is getting thru the injectors.
But maybe not at the right time.
Has anything happened to the timing belt or cams ?

1996 gmc jimmy wont start seems like advanced timing issue backfiring out throttlebody, replaced timing pick up, distribitor cap, crank sensor, ICM, when ignition conrol module replace the engine ran fine...

You said the problem happened right after the engine was replaced correct? If so bring number cylinder to top dead center on the compression stroke. Remove the distributor cap and see if the rotor is lined up with the number one spark plug wire. It's possible the distributor was installed 180 degrees out.

Backfiring just before it starts

Check to see if you have a crossed plug wire on truck. Also check for a cracked insulator on a spark plug or faulty spark plug wire. Check for a vacuum leak at the intake manifold, throttle body,or vacuum hose. Hope this will help you.

Crank Sensor is the likely issue. It does not throw a code. Key indicator is the call stalls all the time. R&R sensor.

Samurai backfire

It sounds more like a timing problem. If it backfires through the carb that means the intake valve is open when the spark plug fires. Same with the exaust but it the exhaust valve that is open.
