SOURCE: 1994 Dodge Caravan rear brakes won't wear out.

Yes, this is very normal. You'll replace the front 3 times before you'll have to replace the rears. The reason for this is because 80% of your braking is in the front. There is nothing wrong with your brake system.

SOURCE: remove the rear brake drum on 2004 Dodge Caraven

No just make sure your emergency cable is off and take a large hammer an hit it around the edge or corner lightly and spin at the same time also try pulling with your other hand as you spin this is a technique all mechanics use its very unlikely that you will have to loosen up the shoes with a brake spoon.REMEMBER THE OUTER ROUNDED EDGE ONLY WHERE ITS THE THICKIST.

SOURCE: compressing the rear disc brake caliper on 2008 grand caravan

The rear calipers on these models require a special tool that compresses and turns the piston in at the same time -- most parts stores carry this tool.

It is called a caliper piston press -- and it installs where the pads would go and acts like a c-clamp,when turning handle it will turn the caliper piston backinto the caliper as it compresses it.
Anytime the brake rotor or brake pads are being replaced, the rear caliper piston must be seated (bottomed) to compensate for the new brake rotor or lining. Because the Parking Brake self-adjuster mechanism is attached to the piston, a special seating method is required. The only acceptable method is by rotating the piston back into the bore using Retractor,MILLER Special Tool 8807, . Any other seating method will damage the self-adjuster mechanism.
Good luck and hope this helps.

2012 Dodge Avenger (21000km). Back breaks have been squeeling for over a month. Funny, my dealer says they can't 'hear it..... Iwhat the heck is going on.

Not sure if its the same problem but my moms 2012 Grand Caravan had the same problem. It turns out that the factory was setting the rear brakes too tight and causing them to bite more than they should. On the 2nd trip to the dealership, they told her about this problem and adjusted them properly. She ended up going through 2 sets of rear brakes before she had to do the front.

How do I reset the parking brake after replacing the rear brake pads on a 2008 Dodge Caravan?

Parking brake should be unaffected if you only changed the rear disc pads. The parking brake self adjusts every time you back up and apply the brakes if it is functioning properly.

Front rotors warp excessively. I have replace the front rotors twice already and now the third pair already show signs of warping.

Someone needs to check operation and adjustment of rear brakes.
Sounds like all or most braking is being done by front brakes.

If both the front brake and the rear brake are both disk style brakes then yes it will be the same experience. The parts may be a bit smaller.

How do I install rear brakes and rotors on a 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan

For Disc Brakes...simply use a 7mm allen wrench to remove the 2 bolts from the inside of the caliper and use a large C-clamp to put pressure on the hydrolic piston. The two pads slide right off for replacement. Reverse directions to install new ones.

Go back and recheck your work. The cable on one or both sides might be installed improperly.
