Ever notice that while driving that the car hesitates or refuses to go into gear? ... but after shifting into gear the engine's RPMs will surge, but the car won't move as fast as the ..... It's slow to shift gears and accelerate in Reverse, D4,D3,2 and 1.
sounds like the switch that engages when you put the transmission in reverse is bad.
I don"t know where it's located but my best guess is a mechanical type that engages when the shifter moves
Check for burned fuse first, then try having someone stand behind car as you move shifter through all the gears slowly too see if back-up lights flick on & off at all during. Move it back & forth from reverse to neutral & drive a couple of times too, real slow & watch for back-ups to light momentarily.
