What makes my 1998 cadillac de ville have acceleration problems

If there is a "service engine soon" light on, have the codes read by an auto parts store and determine the fix. If no light, determine if the lack of acceleration is accompanied by missing like misfiring spark plugs. Bottom line in my opinion is no acceleration is either a lack of fuel, or failure of the spark advance..

Code P1102 - States pending fault.

P1102 for the Mazda is :Mass Airflow Sensor Signal Inconsistent with Throttle Position Sensor. The Mass Airflow Sensor is located in the housing before the Throttle body; it reads the air coming into the system....the Throttle Position Sensor tell the ECU how much throttle you are asking for....I think that the in-air flow and the throttle are not getting the same answer; example would be that you are driving fifty miles an hour and either the MAS or the TPS are not seeing (receiving) this information. Note; most times the MAS is at fault, it can be cleaned but be very careful.

My egr valve keeps cracking

What you should know is the EGR valve is an Extended Warranty part under Federal Pollution guidelines. While the mileage and age of your vehicle may have exceeded the Warranty period of the original Factory part, there are some guarantees on the replacement part depending on the brand.

That said, it is The EGR that is the victim rather than the cause of your problem. Overheating of the EGR is the likely cause of the cracking. The EGR is not apparently opening fully or at all.

This is a problem. Because the onboard computer should be monitoring the various switches that control the opening and closing of the EGR valve.

I would suggest having the passages to the EGR valve cleaned. Have the Vacuum lines to the EGR valve checked for routing between switches. Incorrect routing of the Vacuum lines can also cause poor acceleration.

Smoking, EGR valve failure, etc can be a clogged Exhaust system too!

Before buying another EGR see if you are eligible for a free replacement.

Have a compression test done to verify engine health and replace the sparkplugs at that time.

Please comment on my info.

Hi guys, did you ever had a computer malfunction for montero? My friends car automatically increase the acceleration while movinfg out a parking lot, causing him to hit the pharmcay in front of the...

99% of these kinds of unattended acceleration is driver error with a mix up between the brake and gas pedal.
Steering does not lock unless you turn the key to the lock position.
1% is a mechanical failure but switching the key off and depressing the brake usually controls the situation.

P1102

If the MAF sensor is bad then you need to replace it. 1102 does relate to the MAF sensor. It can also be a bad O2 sensor.
