Question about 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer
I cleaned the throttle body and checked the connection on both the gas pedal and throttle body and were both ok..my tb has a new battery in it but if the alternator goes bad would it cause this issue to happen as well? When I was draining it just shut down and won't start..if indeed the pedal sensor is bad would it cause the to not to start if the throttle body is good?
I had a problem with no start issues,i found the little motor that works the the throttle valve was not working.i replaced throttle body and now i have
had no more problems

THERE IS A TP SENSOR BUILT INTO THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR. THESE TRUCKS HAVE BEEN KNOWN FOR A FEW PROBLEMS IN THIS AREA. THROTTLE ACTUATOR IS NOT SERVICEABLE. THE THROTTLE BODY WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED IF IT IS PROVEN FAULTY. THE APP SENSORS ARE LOCATED IN THE GAS PEDAL MODULE. THESE SEND SIGNAL TO COMPUTER TO TELL IT WHERE YOUR FOOT IS, THEN COMPUTER SENDS COMMAND TO THROTTLE ACTUATOR TO OPEN OR CLOSE THROTTLE BASED ON THIS INPUT. THE SENSOR IN THE THROTTLE ACTUATOR DELIVERS A MESSAGE BACK TO THE COMPUTER TO TELL IT WHAT THE ACTUAL THROTTLE POSITION IS. IF THESE SIGNALS DONT MATCH(WHERE THROTTLE IS COMMANDED AND WHERE IT ACTUALLY IS)THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL ILLUMINATE AND THE VEHICLE COULD GO INTO A REDUCED POWER MODE. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU!

I am having the same issues on my Chevy 03 HD 1500. It takes at least two turns of the ignition to get it going. I have replaced the battery, Fuel Filter, Fuel Engine Relay and I am now Replacing the Starter Engine Relay. If you have any other suggestions let me know! I will share as well. Also, last couple of days Oil Pressure Gauge is acting strange. It will read from 1/4 point to 3/4 point while driving. Working on that as well.

There is a Tecnical Service Bulletin (TSB) that specifically addresses codes P0120, P0220, and P1516.
It says that the TAC Module can set these codes erroneously under certain conditions. It is very likely that if your vehicle is diagnosed according to the provisions of this bulletin, the problem can be corrected without having to purchase or replace any parts.
It is Technical Service Bulletin number 03-06-04-032
