Obviously you have already found where the problem is. check the connections where the wires go into the relay socket (or whatever plugs/connectors are near the part of the harness you are moving. sometimes just unplugging and re-connecting the nearby connectors will restore connection) for corrosion etc. (you may need to carefully cut the tape off the harness) It's best to check connector pins using a volt-meter, then check wire directly behind the pin to ensure that the wire is good where it connects to the pin. It is possible that the fuel/power problem is new and has nothing to do with the original problem, but once power is restored, you can continue diagnosis of the original complaint if necessary.
