licence plate bulb is on the same circuit as the tail lights
if you have tail lights but no number plate light ,then problem is in the bulb holder or wiring
Check the socket for power (with a 12 volt test light probe) to the pin that operates the running light bulb filiment, use the other tailight for a guide or just touch all the pins, one should light the test light up
It sounds like you have burnt out bulbs. All those other lights that you say work are all different bulbs. The tail light bulbs have dual filament so that they can perform the tail light and brake light function. You should change out your bulbs and that will probably solve your problem.
yes ..., there are 2 bulbs in the tail light assembly 1 with just 1bulb for the back-up lights and another with 2 elements 1is for your running lights and the other for the brake light if the running lights are operating and the brake lights are not then remove the taillight assembly to see if the filaments are both still connected to the other terminal or sometimes it will turn black also check your fuses if neither one works ...
If you need to change the light bulb for brake lights:
First you need to open the rear hatch then drop down the tail gate. You will notice that there are 4 screws total for each brake light assembly. 2 on the inside where the tailgate was blocking and 2 on the outside of light. Unscrew them all and the assembly will come right off giving access tot he light bulbs.
guys i had this problem it was the brake light in the window center bulb was bad drove me nuts changed all the bulbs in the third brake light and it went away
