The reverse sensor on the transmission is most likely at fault.

SOURCE: 1997 FORD WINDSTAR GL REVERSE LIGHTS DON'T WORK

Yes the switch is almost certainly the problem, it is located on the top of the trans under the lever that moves to select gear ranges, hard to miss, it has a large multi-wire connector on it, it is adjustable so make sure u make a mental note of the position of the 2 bolts (these retain the switch to the trans case) in the switch adjusting slots. The switch is called either the nuetral safety switch or the transmission range switch. f2218.jpg

SOURCE: Reverse lights not working on 1993 Ford Ranger

Not sure what transmssion you have but basically it goes from fuse on P/O wire to either the MLP switch on automatic or just a backup lamp switch on manual and leaves the switch on BK/PK wire to the bulbs. Should be easy to trace with a 12v test light.

Sounds like a bad back up light switch. Most are located in console w/ shifter.

On the side of your transmission will be a switch with several wires coming out of it. This is your reverse switch that turns on your reverse lights and most likely needs to be replaced

Check to make sure the bulb sockets are tight and free of corrosion. Moisture will often get inside. If this is not the culprit, grab a multimeter and make sure you have a good ground.

2009 V50 back up lights are both out. What could it be? Not the fuse or bulb.

if fuse and bulbs are fine then it's your reverse switch that's not working. it is located at the transmission, change it. but before changing you should make sure that the wires are not cut or faulty.

All my lights come on except for the headlights. The only way I have headlights is to pull back on the dimmer switch. Could it be the relay or? If it is the relay how do I get to them, I see them behind...

ok, First , By pulling back on the dimmer switch thats the high beams working, have you checked the head light bulbs? before tracking down relays , or fuses, check the bulbs with a meter, at times the burned filament is hard to see, you could have had one out, and the other finally quit working too, so do a bulb check first , if you do need to get to the relays,, you need to disconnect the battery first ( always neg side first if you have air bags then positive side, when hooking it back up, reverse this order) then locate the attaching screws that hold the fuse box in place, and lower it,, allowing you access to the relay

Where is the relay and/or in line fuse for the back up lights on a 2002 GMC Envoy. New bulbs and fuses are fine in both fuse boxes. Still not working so there must be a in line fuse or relay out?

check the neutral safety switch. connected to the shift lever, keeps you from running the starter unless in park or neutral, AND it turns on the back up lights when in reverse.

Where is the backup light sensor for 2003 cadilac deville

Hello: If you mean what turns the back-up lights on, the lights are controlled by the park neutral switch which is mounted on top of the transmission on the drivers side of the car. If you haven't checked the bulbs you need to do that first. Remove the rear license plate, then remove the screws that hold the molding behind the license plate then you can access the bulbs for the back up lights. If bulbs are good check the Park/Reverse fuse in the rear fuse block, if fuse is good check the reverse relay in the rear fuse block. The rear fuse block is on Left side under the rear bottom seat cushion.

1993 Dodge Shadow...left turn signal won't flash

If the fuses are good and the front and rear bulbs are good, change the flasher for the turn signals, even tho the right is working. If that doesn't fix the problem, it might be in the turn sgnal switch on the steering column.
If both bulbs are good for the backup lights and fuses are good, then the backup light switch, which is screwed into the side of the transmission has to bad.
