How to clear check engine light

You need a scan tool to clear codes.

But doing this is a pointless exercise as the CE warning light will come back next time you drive the vehicle unless you deal with the problems that are generating the fault codes and CE in the first place.

If you have replaced parts (because some one told you XYZ fault code = replace ABC part) you thought were causing the problems and you are still getting the CE and fault codes then your diagnosis of the problem was completely wrong.

Reset check engine light on a 2008 Buick Enclave without going to a garage

Anyone with a scanner can erase the codes and reset the light. On older cars, you could just remove the negative battery post for a few minutes, but that is not recommended for newer cars. Erase codes with a scanner.

My 07 trailblazer has a code p0526, what does that mean?

This is a fault in the fan speed sensor circuit. You may need to check the connector or replace this sensor. Remember to have someone clear the computer. Some defects will clear automatically and others need time or a scanner to clear.

1992 jaguar vandreplas in limpe mode

This is caused usually by either multiple fault codes triggered or one(s) of a serious nature. You will need to make contact with a garage or dealer that can successfully read these and hopefully clear them.Any that don't clear will need repair in those areas, others that cleared should at least be inspected for obvious signs of fault,or make note of for later in case they return.Sometimes the fault can be in the ECU or the loom to it.check for dampness around it and poor connection in ecu loom plugs and its earth.I hope that this is of some help to you in getting to the source and repair.

I just had my Ford serviced about 2 mos ago. The service engine light just came on and is staying on. I took my Ford to AutoZone. They tested it and said that the anitfreeze needed to be changed.. We...

You need to reset (clear) the fault code, assuming the antifreeze change solved the problem. Frankly I don't know of a fault code that points out antifreeze. You can clear the fault by 1: Removing the Negative terminal from your battery for about a minute and replace, or 2: Take it back to AutoZone and have them clear the fault for you (free). If it comes back on, I would write down the code and research it on the internet, again the antifreeze thing sounds strange.

How do you clear trouble codes on a 94 GM 6.5 diesel? Disconnecting battery power does not do it.

Take it to autozone or a major auto supply house and have them use the fault code reader to read it for you, they usually do this for free and will tell you what the error codes are if it is something simple it can possibly be repaired right there and if not you need to take it to a mechanic. Disconnecting the battery will not clear a fault if the fault still exists.

I hope this helps you with your issue.
