Question about Toyota Avalon
I just bought a 2003 Toyota Avalon XLS, but I didn't realize that the car does not have a trunk board which is under trunk mat and covers spare tire. Do you have any idea to get one? There are a few junkyard here in my town, so I don't have too much option. I might buy plywood or masonite board from Home Depot, but I have no idea how to fit it to my car's trunk.
They are normally made of Masonite. To get the shape tape cardboard boxes together to get a size and then cut the cardboard around the opening where you want it to go. Transfer that template onto the sheet of Masonite and using a jig saw cut around the outline that you have drawn from the cardboard. The Masonite will be around 3/16 thick (3-4mm) thick and should fill the entire area around the tyre so that the deck is complete with no spaces for anything to fall down into the tyre well

The first thing to do is try another key. Perhaps your transponder key has failed.
You can identify a 'transponder key'; it has a wide part wher you turn it.

same problem happened to my 2005 bonneville. inside the trunk and behind the carpet covering the wheel wells there are two water drain tubes. these tubes run down the inside of the "c" pillar and drain the water from the sunroof. they make a 90 degree bend at the bottom back of the wheel well(inside the trunk) and fit inside a round rubber tube/grommet at both of the rear wheel wells that lets the water drain outside.either the plastic 90 degree tube has come out of the rubber tube/grommet or the drain tube could be plugged up with debris. also make sure the two round rubber tube/grommets are installed correctly and seal the hole going through the trunk to the outside of each wheel well. this is of course only for those bonnevilles that have a factory sun/moon roof.
