Question about 2004 Mazda 6 1.6
I have code B2393 HCM to ignitor circuit failure. one of my xenon headlights stopped working. can anybody tell me what the problem is and how to solve it? thanks in advance
The headlights are controlled by a BCM or in your case HCM. This is a computer that controls the lights. The error code means that the signal being sent to the lights is either not coming out of the HCM, is not reaching the ballast on the light or one or more components is bad. The advantage that a dealer has is the ability to use parts and if they are not the problem, they can be sent back to stock. If you want to try that you have to buy them and cannot take them back. Some of the circuits on the unit are proprietary and deal with voltages and signals that are not easily found. They may also require the use of special tools. The cheapest way for you to find out if there is anything that you can do is go to www.autozone.com and make a free account. Then logon to that account and see if there is anything in the free account guides. If there is not, there is a link to alldata and you can access that for a fee. They should have that information there.
