The dimmer light on my passenger side headlight will not work...have replaced the bulb a few times but will only work on the high beam

Have replaced the low beam bulb on my 97 Chrysler LHS a few times and at first it lasted about two weeks but now will not work at all. Can't figure out where the wire leads to to check it either.

I thought I sent this in earlier but you didn't say which side the light is bad. The light on the drivers side works different than the right side, it has it's own power and ground. the one on the right side has it's own ground but the power comes through the day time running module. Check the ground on each side and the fuses for each side

When you replace bulb did you touch glass will your fingers ? the acid from your fingers will destroy globes easily . try putting new globe in using lint free cloth , do not touch any glass with your skin . if so wipe clean before using .

SOURCE: How do I replace a 2003 Chrysler Concord headlight bulb?

open hood, remove radiator suport bar that has the hood latch on it. in the center above the grill there are 2 10mm bolts and 3 plastic fasteners with a pin in the center of them, pull pin up and remove fasteners. there are 2 plastic fasteners on each side of center piece i broke them off and replaced the with fasteners with push pin from auto store. remove 10mm and 13mm bolts holding the center support bar and 2 long 7mm bolts holding headlight assembly lift bar up and set on engine. be carefull not to scratch fenters or anything else with th end of bar. there will be just enough room to remove bulb. after you've done it once it takes ten minutes 2nd time. i just did my wifes 2 hrs ago. thanks gary j.

What would cause the low beam headlight not to work when all other lights work?

If you have standard halogen bulbs:

  1. Burned out light bulb; or
  2. Fried wires between the dashboard wiring harness and the headlight bulb connectors; or
  3. Fried headlight bulb connectors.
If you have HEI emitters:
  • Failed ballast.

I'm guessing you mean high beam on left side not working. All headlamps are on separate fuses for safety reasons so check the LH high beam fuse then check the bulb holder for corrosion or dirty contact with bulb. It won't be the dimmer switch as the wire from the switch goes to a relay which operates both lights

Headlights wont work on dim, only bright

Check your head light bulbs, your truck has the dual filiment headlight bulbs one per side which does both high beam and low beam, 9007 bulbs.
If the low beam filiments are burned out only the high beam will work.
Also look into finding out if the headlight switch is gone bad.
The headlight module and or drl module maybe defective.

One low beam head lights will not work, high beam works though

check for a damaged wire for the low beam. Also wouldn't hurt to check the ground wire as the high beam will try and ground through the low beam but not visa verse

I have a 2006 civic SI. DRL indicator is on, driver side low and high beam ok. Passenger side low beam ok but DRL and hi beam not working. Any help is appreciated.

When either the high or low beam light is out in either side, DRL (daytime running lights) indicator will come on. When one bulb goes out, that's a clue the opposite bulb will burn out soon, so its best to replace both bulbs. If it was a fuse issue, both left and right side would be out. If driver side is OK but passenger side is not, then its a bulb issue. A 2006 Honda civic takes 9006 (HB4) low beam bulbs and 9005 (HB3) high beam bulbs. Cheapest is online from Walmart site-2-store. After procuring, wear latex, vinyl, or ANY gloves to keep your (corrosive) oil skin from coming in contact with headlight glass bulbs. Your skin oil will chemically react and cause shorter life span on glass bulbs. Instruction don't tell you this, so you handle with your hands, then need to replace bulbs 3 years later instead of 5 years (or more) in the future. With gloves on, pop the hood and look behind each headlight. Turn counter clockwise to unlock headlight bulb holders. Its a quarter to half turn to unlock bulb holder lock. Replace one bulb at a time so you don't confuse high beam from low beam. The wire has a tab you need to lift to pull out & disconnect wire connector. You might need a slim narrow-**** (NOT phillips) screwdriver to lift the tab; or use your house key. Snap the wire connector to the new bulb, then twist into headlight housing to secure bulb holders, then move on to the next bulb to repeat the procedure. Pict below, 9005 high beam is on the left, 9006 low beam is on the right. Handle by grasping the plastic base, not the glass bulbs. The raised potrusion on the bottom center is where the tab locks onto wire connector. Replace all 4 bulbs now, but in the future, its likely the low beam will wear out before the high beam. In the future, replace only the pair, not all 4. The factory installs inferior bulbs that go out sooner, hoping you'll take to dealership and they ******** you with higher parts-n-labor fees. As opposed to Walmart online site-2-store, it would cost you AT LEAST triple in parts & labor from dealership to replace all 4 headlight bulbs :-(

Hi, I have a 2002 Buick Rendezvous and the high beam light will not come on on the Passenger's side headlight. The low beam works great and the high and low beams work great on the driver's side. We have...

Make sure the high beam realay under the hood fuse box is working. You can swap the hi beam relay with the horn relay to test. The hi beam filiament in the bulb can be open too.
